Just Boppin’ Around

Kansas City – Girls Night Out

As the wise Miley Cyrus once said, “Let’s go GNO”! If you and your girls are in need of a girls’ night soon, I’ve got a few ideas for you to check out. Hoping these inspire you to step out of your usual wine nights on the couch even though I’m a huge fan of those nights as well.

1.

Lonnie’s Reno Club

(1111 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64106)

This past October I went to my first Lonnie McFadden Jazz show at Lonnie’s Reno Club and it was one of the most fun nights I had in a while! Lonnie knows how to put on a show. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a speakeasy-style champagne cocktail. We were treated to the full experience with a 3-course meal and prohibition cocktails, but you can choose to skip dinner and come later in the night for the 2nd half of the show and cocktails. Dinner was absolutely delicious so I would definitely suggest you do it. The performance was so high energy. Not only do you get fabulous music from Lonnie and his band but there is also tap dance, jazz history, and laughs. This is perfect for the girls’ night when you want to get dressed up and do something special.

2.

Sail Away Wine

(309 Armour Rd, North Kansas City, MO 64116)

This place is a girls’ night dream! Food, casual fun environment, and WALLS OF WINE! You start off your journey by picking up your personalized passport card from the bar. This will allow you to explore the world of wine lining the walls of the building. You get to dispense your own wine at your own pace. There are 3 different pore sizes to choose from so you can taste and go full gulp. There are also other beverage options for those who aren’t wine fans. Grab a glass and ya girls!

3.

SoT

(1521 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108)

If girls’ night means chatting over pretty craft cocktails in a stylish lounge setting, then SoT is your spot. This is one of my favorite spots to kick off the evening or visit after dinner for a couple more rounds of drinks. If the weather is nice you also have the option of enjoying their outdoor area. The cocktails all have super playful names, which make ordering fun. They can also make a mean mocktail for the gals who want a non-alcoholic option.

4.

Blush Farms Cork & Board

(131 S Water St Ste 100, Liberty, MO 64068)

Nothing pairs better with a girls’ night than a charcuterie board! Blush Farms not only creates dazzling charcuterie boards, but they also host workshops to teach you how it’s done. This is the perfect activity to switch up the usual girls’ night. I’ve attended 2 board making classes and I’m always amazed at how the board turns out and all the cool tips and tricks. To accompany you while you work hard creating your charcuterie you are given a glass of bubbles to sip on or if it’s like that latest class I took there was even a cocktail making portion. After the class is done you can snack on your creation with the girls and grab another drink in Blush Farm’s shop. Bonus: they host private board making classes which would be a blast for a bachelorette!

5.

Seasonal Pop-up Bars

Some of my favorite girls’ nights have been at a themed pop-up bar. My friends and I get really into these. We love to guess what the different drink names will be and the different decor we will see. Pop-up bars are awesome because each experience is a surprise you never know exactly what you’re going to get. Some of our favorite themes have been Mean Girls, Love Shack, and Schitts Creek. Make sure you’re following me on Instagram or TikTok because I share upcoming pop-up bars as they are announced.
